The ONC Market R&D Pilot Challenge facilitates relationships between Hosts and Innovators. We understand that as a Host it can be difficult to determine which early-stage healthcare technology company or Innovator might be the best match for your organization's needs. Similarly, for an early-stage company, the initial pilot relationships can be a make or break for its future progress. Our matchmaking process works as follows:

  1. Both Innovators and Hosts looking for pilot partners complete the "Find a Partner" form indicating your interests, capabilities, and resources.
  2. Based on the “Find a Partner” form responses, the ONC Pilot Challenge Team initially matches Innovators and Hosts and sends each host a list of companies which we believe would be of interest to them.
  3. Hosts have the opportunity to let the Challenge Team know which Innovators they are interested in meeting with via email.
  4. Once the selections are confirmed, we arrange 15 minute discussions during the in-person matchmaking sessions. Matchmaking events were invite only and are now complete.

Because of the volume of interest that we receive, only matched companies were invited to attend the matchmaking sessions. After the matchmaking sessions, the Host and Innovators are be responsible for setting up follow-up sessions to agree on the details of the pilot project, including budget, milestones, and timeline.

Note: Interested applicants do not have to go through the Pilot program's matchmaking process to apply for the challenge, and applications from teams that did not go through the matchmaking process will be treated equally to those that did. The matchmaking sessions are intended to facilitate the creation of partnerships between Hosts and Innovators based on stated interests and needs from both parties, but not all meetings will lead to further interest and partnerships are not guaranteed. Only joint Host and Innovator applications are accepted into the ONC Market R&D Pilot Challenge.  Please read our Terms and Conditions.

Matchmaking events are now Complete. Thanks for attending!
