If selected, how much of my proposal will be funded?
The ONC Market R&D Pilot Challenge will select up to six pilot proposals, which will receive $50,000 each. If selected, the two parties are free to decide how the ONC Market R&D Pilot Challenge funding will be allocated between Host and Innovator. The budget submitted as part of the application should be an accurate representation of the cost of the pilot program.
Who gets to keep the funding from the ONC Market R&D Pilot Challenge program?

It is possible that the second half of the prize might not be disbursed in the event that the pilot project did not meet the milestones that were proposed by the innovator-host pair. This will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
Are the hosts encouraged to or prohibited from providing additional funds to the innovator for larger development?
Hosts are not prohibited from providing additional funds to the innovator for larger development of the product.
Can an Innovator Company have other federal grant-backed projects up and running with the Pilot Host, but applied to a different problem?
Federal grantees may not use funds from a federal grant to develop a challenge application unless it is consistent with the purpose of the grant award.
Are there restrictions on tying pilot funding with other funding initiatives?
Pilot funding must be used specifically for the pilot, not combined with other funding streams for another project.
Are there any limitations for what the award funds can be used?
Award funds can be used at the discretion of the team, presumably in accordance with the budget as presented in the pilot proposal.
Should the budget for the proposal account for spending that will occur solely during the pilot or can some of that funding be used to scale the product after the pilot?
